At McCrite Plaza at Briarcliff, you buy the meal package, but you don't have to eat three meals a day there, whereas at other places, the package includes dining with them all the time. The facility is gorgeous and the room my mother-in-law is going to have is gorgeous. The people are wonderful and they have a ton of activities, like going out to eat, to doctors' appointments, the theater, cards, and Bingo.
The apartments seemed like they were pretty good quality, and they were exactly what we were looking for. They had more of an open concept compared to some of the other ones that we visited, which was an important aspect. We only spent a little bit of time in the cafeteria area, but based on the menu, it seemed pretty straightforward for independent living. They had any kind of a la carte menu and they had restaurant style menu.
